Shadow Play XIV

This is from a set of twenty photographs that are meant to give the feeling of a live performance. With the exception of the very last shot, all are long exposures of up to 8 seconds. There are no double exposures or digital overlays; each images reveals a seqeunce of movements as it was performed in front of the camera.

There is no literal narrative to the series, but the images play on the idea of the dual nature of a single person's soul, and how those two similar yet opposed aspects can vacillate between working in harmony and fighting for dominance. Exactly what those two halves represent is left to the viewer to decide.
