As a child, I loved drawing. I was especially interested in abstract art. In my teens, I also ventured into figure drawing. After beginning university, I found myself with little free time. For quite a while, my interest in art was pushed to the background.
Several years ago, I began reviving my old recreational interest in visual arts. In particular, I sought to acquire some competence in figure drawing. In the process, I encountered difficulty in finding good reference photos of male nudes. I ended up taking photos of myself.
This ignited a tangential interest in photography. I have observed that fine art nudes overwhelmingly tend to feature females. There may be some good reasons for this, but at the same time, I feel that the nude male form is neglected, or even feared. My goal is to create art that portrays the male figure, without bias or hesitation, as a way of expressing ideas and emotions.
